SNAIL MAIL
MY EMAIL:

I included this side project as an example of why I consider collaboration essential to creativity. It doesn’t matter who gets the most credit or how big the contribution. What matters––and, I believe, the reason any of us are involved in a creative field––is to bring the best ideas to life. When Ivan Cash, a friend and former art director partner, first came to me with this idea, he only needed a sounding board. Months later, he would need an entire community of letter-writing volunteers. As you’ll see in the team credits sheet below, I played just a small part, but how great to be part of something when the something is this.

A flyer with colorful text inviting people to participate in a one-week email project from November 12-18, where they send messages to anyone and email it for handwritten messages to be handwritten and posted via regular mail. The flyer includes icons of a laptop, an exclamation mark in a document, and an envelope.
Instructions for writing a letter, requesting a custom option, and sending an email to a specific address, including privacy and legal notices.
The image is a thank you page from the Snail Mail My Email project, dated August 15, 2011. It lists the team members including creator Ivan Cash, project manager Lucy Tan, administrator Terry Farris, photographers and volunteers, and creative consultants. The page highlights that the team is composed of volunteers worldwide. Specific names under various roles are provided, along with a note to visit the website for more information.
